In the late seventies, up the road from my Nan's house there used to be a general shop run by a man from London known simply as 'Cockney'. 'Cockney's' emporium was incredibly cluttered and contained at least one of every item that anyone could ever need in life. Somewhere along the line, Cockney must have bought a job lot of 'Space 1999' transfer packs as, for about three years, myself and my brothers used to get one every time we went in.
Letraset Action Transfers were amazing things: brilliantly designed, exceptionally neat, yet free to use any way you wanted. I used to supplement the transfers with my own little drawings. I loved them.
My thanks to the Splat Action Transfer site, the definitive online guide to Letraset Transfers. I lost a couple of hours there last night reliving an old obsession.
You beauty !
ReplyDeleteLooking through these has misted my eyes.
By the time I got to the Universal Task Force
I had started to involuntarily emit strange atavistic noises.
Had loads of those sets displayed on the attic wall, and used to really enjoy turning the light off and staring at the glow-in-the-dark skulls featured in the above link.
