Terror Target

Some illustrations from the Target adaptation of 'Terror Of The Autons'. The bottom picture of the Nestene is something that was completely beyond the budget of the TV show, and is a wholly original creation.

  1. Great stuff, one of the reasons I've never attempted designing anything related to Pertwee era Who is that the Target books are just so brilliant.

  2. The Terrence Dicks novelisation of "Terror of the Autons" completely blew my mind when I read it as a kid - I seem to remember it ending with the men of UNIT battling that big nestene creature with machine guns or somesuch as it goes on a Godzilla-like rampage, and I just thought it was the greatest. It was such a cruel disappointment when I finally managed to find a video of the episodes and discovered that none of the scenes of epic carnage from the book were actually in it... not even the presence of the bloke getting eaten by the PVC armchair could make up for it...

  3. Likewise I had a lot of the Pertwee era Target Dr Who Books. But sadly they all seem to have gone now..............On the plus side I do still have my Target Dr Who Monster Book.
